A New Camera For Robert

Where's Wally now? Robert "Wally" Watkin is out and about taking photos with his new camera which was presented
to him at the Woolgoolga "Fluro" Friday by Coffs Coast Freemasons Association Chairman Phil Robertson.
When Robert injured himself some time ago his whole life changed and he was faced with mental
and physical challenges that led to isolation and depression.
Through his camera he became Woolgoolga's unofficial photographic historian, photographing and meeting people from different groups.
Robert will tell you that his camera is his life saver. When his trusty camera started to fail some friends decided it was time to take action.
Carolyn Boyden, organiser of "A New Camera For Robert" started a "GoFundMe" campaign; but the appeal was slow to get started
so members of the CCFA agreed to donate $1000 to give it a kick start. Fellow photographer,
Lianne Wooster, contacted the Advocate who ran the story and "bingo" donations started to come in from people
who expressed their appreciation of Robert's photographs."It was very exciting and as the fund grew, the possibilities
of getting better equipment became a reality. "Thank you so much to everyone who contributed"
